It dates back more than a century. Its founder, José López Fuentes, created it in the locality of Vélez Málaga and during the 1970’s and observing the tourist growth that Torre del Mar was experiencing, opened a store under the direction of his son Francisco. José led it until his retirement and was later led by his wife Anna and his son Francis who currently runs the store.
The business has seen how Torre del Mar has developed from a coastal nucleus of fishermen, to a town with multiple services. Ferretería El Llavín has always contributed with knowledge and support in terms of hardware to the development and growth of the area.
At present and as they have adapted to the modern times they are a member of the largest group of ferreters at the national level (CADENA 88). This enables them to be more competitive with prices and variety. They are also able to offer an ‘on-line’ product range and on-line home delivery service. The idea of its founder remains in force with Francis the grandson (3rd generation), to have a good assortment with recognised prestigious brands at fair prices.
