The Torre del Mar bus station is located in a building that was used as a train station long ago. This compact train station from 1904 has a rectangular body and a single hall with two floors and two side sections running along the sides of the main building. Although the building is not declared as historic, it has an interestingly eclectic decoration, using neo-mudejar style brickwork for the edges of the doors, openings and corners. It has overhanging eaves and gabled roofs with green glass tiles. This building is very well conserved and grants a somewhat ‘decadent’ note to the modernity of the town. It is currently working as the Alsina Graells bus station, with a counter inside for ticket sales. Previously it had one side that was used as a loading and unloading latform but it disappeared in the early 1980’s. This building served as the railsay station for the suburban line from Malaga to Velez Malaga.
